 Delta Chi Chapter in Caldwell has started off the year successfully hosting
a Rush Party at the local fitness center-THE SPOT. The Social Theme for
this year is "Free To Be Me". The Educational Theme is "Steps to a
Healthier You" and our social Theme is "Busy Buzzy Butterflies. (Pictured left is THE SPOT spa owner, Patti Sprague)

Our new officers for the year are: Jill Mattingly, president; Melinda Neal, vice
president; Dessie Scott, recording/ corresponding secretary; Clara Ginn, treasurer; Jeannie Ward, educational director; and Jan FitzSimmons, parliamentarian.
The Rush committee had a special time planned for us-"Free to Party with
ESA" (Mexican Fiesta Style). The evening was spent playing three truths
and a lie; learning some Zumba steps from the local spa owner, and drinking
some non-alcoholic margaritas. Special guests for the evening were Jeanine
Bevan, Mary Lou Bender, Jamie Ryan, Brenda Koerner, and Patricia Thurman.
Delta Chi Chapter of ESA held it's model meeting," Free to Learn About ESA,"
in the home of Barbara Shaffer on September 2. Kim Kummer, Kansas State
Council 2nd vice president, and the rush committee ( Melinda Neal, Chr.
Brenda Love, Dessie Scott, and Barbara Shaffer) were in charge of the
lesson.

"ESA's Special Secret Sisterhood Sundae" Kim Kummer presented the lesson entitled “ESA’s Special Secret Sisterhood Sundae." The ice cream (representing the foundation of leadership) was placed in a large bowl ahead of time and brought out by Barbara Shaffer hostess.

Dessie Scott, as recording/ corresponding secretary added nuts since we are all nuts about ESA—the network that brings good people together; and M&Ms which add flavor by keeping us informed of what is going on at all levels.

Marsha Barnes, social chairman, added slices of bananas for a-pealing activities which make our gatherings fruitful. Jeannie Ward, educational director, added the toffee chips, representing the lessons which will have food for thought and something to chew on.

The completed Sundae represents the talents and skills of each and every member of ESA. Delta Chi not only enjoyed the symbolism of the lesson - they enjoyed the Sundae as well! Great Lesson Kim!

HOLIDAY HIKERS.
Delta Chi walked the 5K Holiday Hike this November with Brenda Love in charge of the state effort for St. Jude. Brenda and Maureen Wells put together the walk to raise money for the children and a cure for cancer. (L to R) Linda Bocox - District C Chair; Jill
