 DISTRICT NEWS

Kansas is divided into 10 Districts that meet 3-4 times during the year. Their function is mainly social as well as to serve as an effective communication arm of the Kansas State Council. Districts meetings are filled with fun and friendship. The First Vice President of the Kansas State Councils guides the direction of the 10 District Chairman.

DISTRICT MEETINGS SHARE FUN, FELLOWSHIP AND GREAT FOOD!
District E held its annual Craft Auction October 12
 Epsilon Pi chapter hosted the District E meeting with approximately 30 people attending. Xi Phi organized and conducted the auction which made approximately $400 for the District's philanthropic efforts. Kendra Jones will be representing the district in the upcoming ESA IDOL at the January Board meeting and the District donated $250 in support of her talent. The district was honored to have Joy Thornbrugh; KSC President, Pat Josey; KSC First Vice President, Kim Kummer; KSC Second Vice President and Linda Schmidt; Convention Co-Chairman attending the meeting in Pratt.
District J held an Ice Cream social, Sunday - September 14. Cookies, Sundays, banana splits were enjoyed by all.

DISTRICT PLANNING MEETINGS PREPARE FOR YEAR AHEAD
 District J theme for 2008-2009 - "My ESA Story"
District J meetings will start each meeting with a member of the hosting chapter sharing a brief history of their chapter and a bit about what they are doing for projects and activities.
The District J planning meeting was held in June at the 4-H Senior Citizen's Center. Sixteen members were in attendance to plan the upcoming year for the district. Seated is the District J President, Charlotte Grelk.

District E will be hosting is annual auction again this year in Pratt at the Municipal Bulding in October. Everyone is invited to come and the meeting will be hosted by Epsilon Pi Chapter.

Linda's focus this year will be getting to know each other better in the district, building attendance both by chapters and district, and communicating with ESA members through the use of the website of ESA Kansas. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend the District C meetings scheduled for the year as follows:
- October 25, 2008-- Fall Social and Luncheon--Hosted by Alpha Delta of
Winfield on at 12:00 p.m. at the Mental Health Center , Strother Field,
north of Ark City.
- January 31, 2009--Educational and late lunch--Hosted by Alpha Omicron,
Wellington, Daylight Donut Shop, 2:00 p.m., Wellington, KS
- March 28, 2009--Installation and Outstanding Sister Ceremonies--Hosted by
Beta Beta. Place and time to be announced.
