HOLIDAY HIKE - IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS KANSAS
Come walk the 5K (3 MILES) for the Children of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. ESA’s Holiday Hike for St. Jude was a huge success last year. We raised over $21,000 for the hospital. This year, we are asking ESA members across the state to begin training to walk or run a 5K (that is 3 miles) in their OWN communities across Kansas on Sunday, November 16, 2008.

This can be done outside – in your neighborhood, at a park, at a track; or inside – on a treadmill, through the halls of a school. Whatever works for YOU! For more information contact Brenda Love, Circle of Life Coordinator.

All money collected needs to be sent into Brenda by December 1. Make all checks payable to St Jude Children's hospital. Please do not send cash - use a money order or check. Let's make money for the kids!!

Register todayREGISTRATION FORM for the Holiday Hike. Your chapter members can participate in your own communities November 16!

Winter Board meeting to be held in Garden City

Deadline
January 5
REGISTRATION FORM   Winter Board Meeting on January 16-18 - Garden City

Sign up for the ESA Foundation - "ESA Idol" Show for the
January Board Meeting - January 17 in Garden City!

Pat UphamCan you believe it is Fall already and before you know it January and the winter board meeting will be here. My committee and I are looking forward to Foundation weekend in January and hope you are too. We are excited to present “ESA IDOLS”.

Your talent can be whatever you want it to be. If you are part of a singing group then enter as a group. If comedy is your bag, then do a comedy routine: Moon-walking, Juggling, Pole-dancing, (whoops, not pole dancing) or Flower-arranging whatever your talent. We are asking for a representative from each district and a representative from the Lamplighters.

Several of you have inquired about lip syncing. I would prefer that you perform live; however, if no one else volunteers to enter, then please go ahead and enter. The most important thing is for us to have fun, laugh, and create precious memories that weekend. Remember we all have some form of talent, so share it with us.

District Chairs be sure to bring this up in your meetings. Please let me know by the first week of January the name of your idol and what she or they will be performing. Each act should be between 5 and 7 minutes. Also let me know if you will need any specific equipment. Help us to raise money to support our Kansas Scholarships!
