GOODWILL INDUSTRIES
KANSAS STATE COUNCIL SECOND STATE PHILANTHROPIC PROJECT
"Growing and Expanding"

For more than 30 years, the Kansas ESA has supported Goodwill Industries of Kansas, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. When you donate and shop at Goodwill, attend an event or contract with them for business services, you help fund job training and education programs for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Ninety cents of every dollar raised supports the Goodwill mission.

How You Can Help

Volunteer - In addition to providing volunteers for Goodwill fundraising events like Blue Jean Bingo, the NBC World Series and Cajun Food Fest, ESA ladies organize an annual client birthday party for the people with disabilities in the skills development adult day program. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, contact the Goodwill Chair. You can find the current Goodwill Chair in the Board Directory (in the member center).

Give to the Client Assistance Fund - Support Goodwill program participants in cases of emergency including illness, robbery, natural disasters, abuse and more. Chapters or individuals may choose to designate gifts to Goodwill to the Client Assistance Fund.

Adopt a Client - Send a client a birthday or holiday card. If you have sent cards in the past, please check with the Goodwill Chair before sending anything to ensure that the client is still at Goodwill. All correspondence should be sent to:
Curtis Tatum, Client Name, Goodwill Industries, P.O. Box 8169, Wichita, KS 67208.

Donate & Shop - Goodwill’s mission is mainly funded by the sale of donated goods in their stores. You can donate clothing, home décor, furniture, electronics, cars and more. Learn more about donating goods at Goodwill or shop at a store near you. When you donate to a Goodwill store, fill out an ESA gift in kind form, found on the Kansas ESA website under the Handbook Forms. Keep a copy for your chapter records and send a copy to the Goodwill Chairman.

While Goodwill retail stores help offset the cost of programs and services, your financial gift demonstrates your belief in the power of work and can provide desirable tax benefits. Contact Molly Fox at 316.744.9291 to learn about supporting Goodwill with a financial or estate gift.

Contact Co-Chairs:  Karen Knorp Brown and Sue Friedel if you have questions regarding our Goodwill efforts!

Don't forget the "Client Assistance Fund"  which is an emergency fund for clients (placement changes, illness, or any other unexpected event)

Client adoptions are also still available.   Sending cards and letters to clients is a wonderful pick - me - up.  They love to get mail.   It is an easy way to help the Goodwill clients.
